The Code of Hammurabi in Akoma Ntoso
The laws of Hammurabi, King of Babylon, from about 1754 BC, in L. W. King’s English translation, marked up in Akoma Ntoso, the OASIS standard for legal and legislative documents, and styled after the dark stone stele on which the laws were cut.

The XML was generated by Claude for Grant Vergottini from the text of King’s translation published by the Avalon Project at Yale Law School. It holds the prologue, the numbered laws and the epilogue. It is an English translation, not the Akkadian original, and the gap in the numbering marks a part of the stele that is missing.
